Our Cat That Roams Freely

We have a cat, at least I think we do. We have had this cat for over a year now. He is not a typical indoor, cuddle on your lap type of cat. He LOVES to be outside. Ever since we have had him, we would always make a mad dash to get outside...hence his name is Dash. So when we moved here we decided to let him outside since we would be living here for awhile. (Last time we let him out where we lived, he didn't come back for over a week and we were just about to move.) So now he loves to be outside and all the neighborhood kids love to play with him. He has his name and my number on his tag, which we have received many calls from people thinking he was lost. Anyway he just loves to climb trees, chase birds, explore, anything outside. He comes back to eat and occasionally sleep at night. The other day he was outside of course and we were just getting back from somewhere. I could hear him meowing, but didn't think much of it. Phillip told me to come outside, and sure enough, he had climbed up our tree, onto our roof and of course could not figure out how to get down. I had no idea how we were doing to get him down since we do not have anything but a step stool. Luckily people across the way had been painting for new people to move in and had a ladder. So Phillip had to climb up and rescue the ever so curious cat. Anyway, I just thought it was silly. And as soon as Dash was on the safe ground again, he scurried away, and a couple minutes later was climbing up the tree again. Crazy cat!
